Strategic Sites Consultation deadline 9th September

Strategic Sites Consultation

As you may know, Shropshire Council is running a Strategic Sites Consultation on proposed plans to removed large areas of land from the Greenbelt at Tong and Cosford, and Tern Hill and Buildwas.  These strategic sites were not included in the ‘Preferred Sites Consultation’ as were Bridgnorth and Shifnal, but it’s still important that we give our views in this consultation which closes on 9th September.

Returns must be by 7th September if you are sending a paper form back by post, or by 9th September if completing online.

The online link to download and print, or save and complete is here: https://www.shropshire.gov.uk/media/12894/strategic-sites-consultation-questionnaire.pdf

The link to the full plans is here: https://www.shropshire.gov.uk/media/12893/strategic-sites-consultation-document.pdf

Happily, the form is much simpler this time around, and it literally takes two minutes to fill it in – see the quick notes below.  You will notice that the developers have a later deadline than the rest of us to respond, therefore it is really important you do not provide comments in response to Q12 to Q14.   Answering these questions gives the developer an opportunity to make cosmetic changes to the proposals and claim to have community support.

To send BY POST – print off the form and fill it in by hand, and post back to Shropshire Council, Planning Policy & Strategy Team, Shirehall, Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, SY2 6ND.  Post by 7th Sept to arrive on time.

To fill in electronically, follow the instructions at the top of the form, it is really important to save the document to your computer, and then reopen it before you start filling it in, otherwise your answers will be lost.  Deadline 9th September.

And, that’s it, you’re done!

Thank you!
